Please, why can't all questions be like this? It would save me a fortune on Zantac.

Powerdesk is the Matrox utility that provides extra functionality to the standard W9x video modes. Depending on the hardware that you have installed and the version of drivers (ie Powerdesk) that you have installed, this can allow you to use a virtual desktop (so you can expand your desktop beyond the bounds of the monitor and scroll around it), enable various modes of dualhead, enable TV out etc.

VT (or video tools) are the drivers and applications specific to video capture/editing supplied by matrox for users of Rainbow Runner (RR-S or RR-G) or Marvel G200/G400-TV. These include the PC-VCR program, some housekeeping/setup software and the hardware codecs necessary to run the capture card.
