    Some advice sought please.

I am currently running a PIII500 and am wondering what's the best way to get some more muscle under the bonnet.

    I am thinking of getting a 2nd PIII500 and running a dual processor set-up under NT4.

    Couple of questions however.

When running with a dual processor does NT take advantage of the extra power for all of the normal functions of running Windows.

When I am running my Video applications ( Premier 5.1 ) amongst others will they benefit from the 2nd processor or does every application have to be specially written before it can make use of the 2nd processor.

Any advice would be greatly recieved

You can always try and overclock what you have. I have a Celeron 366 running quite happily at 567 MHz. I'm not sure what a PIII500 can be cranked up to, but there are dozens of sites on the 'net that could fill you in.

      Thanks Patrick.

I have tried to over clock several PIII 500s and while I can get up to 560 (112Mhz FSB) the system tends to become very unstable. PIII are a pain in the arse to O/C compared to the Celerons.

        Dear Pooh
For NT it will use 1 processor per 1 task it you need full 2 processor power you need to check with Adobe but don't worry about o/c speed 1 reason that i had been found is PIII is more powerful than Celeron with Same speed or more because it have SSE when u use it with software that support. It 's will very good.
