  • Just one simple question...

I'm currently using the MillG200/RR-G combination. I would like to know why I cannot watch TV over 1024 X 768 ?

This is very frustrating cause I have always to switch back to 1024 X 768 to watch TV while I'm working at 1152 X 864.....

    Any idea?

Try using a 16 Bit palette...

      i tried my system ( Marvel G200 )at 1152X864
32 Bit... and i can't access the tuner nor the video line Input...
but if i work in 16 bit, 1152 X 864 it works fine...

By the way, at 800X600 16 Bit you have the best speed performance of video playback and tuner display (if i refer to my system )

      Good Luck !

        Thanks for your tip!

So, that means it's a Driver problem....

MATROX, can I hope to have the possibility to watch TV at 1152 X 864 at 32 bit color in a near future driver release ??

          That's a good question....

i knew that matrox video hardware des not support 24 Bit palette because of a luminance thing... and the 24 bit architecture... ( a very simplified way of saying it .. )
but i never tried to use video capabilities in 32 Bit..
as for me, i'm always in 16 Bit and switch very frequently ( without any problems with tuner playback )between 800 X 600 up to 1600 X 1200 ... depending on my mood..

So does someone have an explanation for the 32 bit, over 1024 X 768 ???

          im curious too !

32 bit color depth is supported for RR_G only up to 1024x768

16 bit works up to 1152x864.

24 bit will never work with RR_G

G400 has probably different behaviour, and probably because of more RAM used for 2D operations by default - 16 M.

How do you enable 32bit palette in PC-VCR
When I try it it wont start the program and
tells me to set it to 16bit.
Is my G100 8meg to little video memory.
Also I'm using 5.30 Powerdesk and 1.51 Videotools.
