Which Digi cam for NLE and otherwise

Dear MURCers ad MURCettes,

I do not have a digital camera, yet, but I am getting the itch and it must be scratched soon!

What I do have in the way of imaging stuff is a Sony D8, a Sony 8, DVD players a color flatbed scanner, Nikon FM w/4 lenses, 3 pentium PCs, a NINO 510 (This is awesome for the price, you better go to egghead and get one before they are gone for good!), plus the NLE stuff in my profile below and some basic Adobe photo editing software, and other Ulead prgrams.

I want a Digi Cam so I can capture high quality stills for printing, publising on CD/ROM *and* to include in MSP 5.2 video projects.

I'm thinking a 2 MegaPixel would be great for the prints but overkill for the video, so I would probably get > 2 MegaPixel so I can do both (scaling down?). Yes? No?

Does anyone know if the Digi Cams come in prgressive VS interlaced, and which would be better?

Also is square pixels something I need to be concerned with for NLE with MSP?

I'm kind of interested in the tiny Fuji MX-2700 or maybe the Fuji MX-2900.

Anything else I should consider before buying?
