Elie: You can get the AT-3D to work without the daughtercard by changing jumpers on the card. Output from the card is usually directly routed from the DB60XG itself. Remember, all of those cool DSP effects are produced by the daughtercard, so everything must be run through it. Once you remove the DB60XG obviously nothing is there to bridge the line out of the card to the OP3-SA3 codec. You can find the jumper settings to fix this in the card's manual. This will send the output of the codec directly to the line out. You will also have to go to Yamaha's site and download the OP3-SAx reference drivers. The Mediatrix drivers are special because they lock out MIDI sysex messages that would otherwise cause the card to mute out all sound (not necessary if the daughtercard isn't present).

I haven't heard anything from Mediatrix. Their older Audiotrix Pro was also a very nice card. They haven't updated their drivers for the AT3D for some time now (not to mention their Web site).
