Class not registered (Error=80040154)

When I try to play an .avi file with Win98SE
and Window media player, I get the error
"Class not registered (Error=80040154)"
Does anyone know how to fix this
BTW I am using a G400MAX and RR-G Series

i had this problem once and what i did to fix it was just reinstall windows on top of itself. if there is someone who knows how to repair a registry problem such as this i would also be interested in knowing.

Thanks for the reply, I reinstalled Win98SE
over my existing installation and it can now
play .avi files.
