  • Watching incomming video in fullscreen

I have a miro dc10+ that i have tried it with both a vodoo3 3000, and a banshee. When i watch a video tape from a vcr in realtime, the size of the picture is limited to about a quarter of the screen. I fear that this has got to do with my grafic card. Can anyone share some information on what it takes to get fullscreen video in realtime.
The pograms i have tried are vidcap and avi i/o.

    Hi Ole,

Gimme 24 hours, I have a DC10+ station here for a spot of testing that I can use to try and help you out (mebbe, I'm not an expert with this card).

Otherwise I would be glad to forward your query to Pinnacle to see if they can offer some suggestions.

I would be happy with any help i can get.
I have emailed the german tecnical support help at pinnacle 3 times concerning this problem. Every time i got arrogant, stupid one line sentences back. I will spare you the details, but to me it seems that the person i was in contact with didn`t even know what was written on their own homepage.
I suppose the problem has to do with the overlay support of my grafic card. I have had a tnt2 ultra in my system for a very short while, and as far as i remember it offered fullscreen. The only way to get this with my vodoo cards, is to click preview, instead of overlay - but that makes everything go slowmotion.
Any help would be very appriciated.
Bye the way, you cant get fullscreen with the studio dc10+ software, no matter what hardware you use, so dont spend time on that.
Use vidcap or avi i/o, or something else.
      Bye from ole.

        Hi Ole,

Well I tried out AV_IO on the DC10+ machine, and although I couldn't figure out how to get full screen, I was able to pick any of the common frame sizes up to full PAL frame.

The display card was a TNT2 model 64.

I think you may be right about your problem being in the overlay

Thanks for your help. You were a lot more helpfull than the tech support at pinnacle.
What still wonders me though is that in a description of their dc10+ beta driver 1.05 they write :
"True overlay support for 3dfx grafic cards (for instance vodoo 3, Banshee)".
Doesn`t that mean it should work ?
