  • avi's fullscreen playback

I use windows media player 6.4

the movie is using mpeg4 codec and it's resolution is at 720*576
I play it fullscreen with all that directdraw hardware acceleration on.

the problem is that the image quality depends on the resolution my desktop
is at, when I had a riva tnt it was perfect at all resolutions
with my new g400 the image looks like it was bad streched without any kind
    of filtering

can anyone help me out? please !!!

    bye !! thanks !!

Sorry about that...but that's what I get for guessing...

After a little more research, I've come to a different conclusion:

Video cards only support certain pixel formats. Any format the card itself doesn't support has to be handled by the software emulator for DirectDraw. Your TNT card probably directly supported the pixel format given out by the MPEG4 codec, but your G400 didn't, so your TNT system would do hardware stretching and your G400 would do software stretching (the poorer kind).

Still no way around it. Sorry.
