  • Transition/Filter Developer Kit for MSP? (Haig?)

Well, is there one? That's what I want to know...does Ulead provide or plan to provide a way for us to write our own filters/transitions? WhereWhenHowmuch?

You can already make your own organic wipes. Download the free MediaStudio Pro and Video Studio Spices from http://www.pixelan.com and examine them for clues as to how they work. They load into the MASK transition in MSPro.

They are basically 720x480 grayscale .tga files with alpha channels.

I gave a procedure a while back and I think Chris put it in his T&T section. In any case, as Doc said, you can make your own bt creating a TGA B&W file from within photoshop and access it thru the mask fx in MSP or the gradient wipe transition from premiere.

Well, that's cool and I'll try that, but I'm really looking for a way to write (program) a plugin of sorts, like our Premiere friends can do. That way I could write effects that would impossible or extremely difficult using the standard filters/transitions.

Please tell me there is a way! (And that it costs little or no $$$!)

You could always write developer support at Ulead and ask the particulars about their plugin SDK.

SDK's are usually free along with support from the dev rel team. We should be releasing our G400 Marvel SDK pretty soon. Nothing fancy though, just a few sample codes if anyone is interested in making their own capture app.

I guess Haig's the wrong person to ask.(sorry, Haig!) This was a Ulead question...

No problem. Never hurts to ask
