Doc, pay attention
Please do NOT use the following for illegal purposes :
For G200, Macrovision disabled DLLs are available from http://www.toric.com/G200/g200.html
For G400, they are here : http://idiots-guide.matroxusers.com/...ds/vt151cr.zip
The only reason that these drivers are hostd/linked is to help out those who have had genuine problems capturing from their own sources. This is taken on trust, and I don't want to hear that these drivers have been deliberately used to break legitimate MV encoding.

Hi
sorry, but the link: http://idiots-guide.matroxusers.com/...ds/vt151cr.zip is for the G200 cards, not for G400 cards...?
Thanks for your answer
P.S: it's for my own sources, i'm not a hacker or something like that....

yes, but result is the same: macrovision is not remove with vt151cr.zip with my G400 (I have Rainbow runners g-series too)....
I have a french version of video tools, is it a problem ?
and in the readme.txt, it says that it's specific to G200 card....

Thanks for the corrections. Yes, it is the version of video tools that is important. So vt151cr.zip fixes the 1.51 VTs. The linked G200's are for an older VT (1.3 ?, I can't remember offhand).
You do have to unzip them and use them to replace the existing .DLLs - it's a good idea to rename the existing .DLLs first so that you can revert if it all goes pear-shaped.

Have you followed the directions?
--------------------------------------------
I take no responsibility for these. I've tried them, they seem to work fine. If you use them, don't contact Matrox tech support (or me) if anything goes wrong. Make sure that you copy RRAPI.DLL and VIDCAP16.DLL to new names BEFORE unzipping this into your Win/sys folder, then run "crack". Using these drivers for the copying of legitimately Macrovision encoded sources is ILLEGAL.

What version of VidTools do you have?

I have video tools v 1.51... and I installed the english version... I run crack.exe... and the two files was successfully patched.
But macrovision was not remove when i link my G400 card to my VCR !!! the screen is blinking. I don't understand... I can not record MY OWN dvd to my VCR ...
are you sure that macrovision is in video tools drivers ?? It isn't in the display card drivers ?

It's normal that you can't record your DVD's...The patch you installed modifies DLL's that make your Marvel G400 capable of not "taking care" of the Macrovision signal and capture protected copies.
The Macrovosion signal is not removed and is captured by the Marvel. So when your read the DVD, the signal is sent to your VCR and makes you unable to record.
BTW, even if you try to record the Macrovision captured files to your VCR, it won't work.
You must buy or make a special electronic circuit that is enable to remove the Macrovision signal from the video signal.
Buy it is not cheap...
So you will be able to record your DVD'sDj Benito

Hi,
I had the similar problem capturing from my own Sony camcoder (TRV 10 E), my own video, when the capture reached the end mark stamped by the camera. The end stamp told me that the video is copy protected.
Recapturing and stoping the capture a bit before the end-mark solved this for me.
Irritating, but could be a solution until Matrox gives us something better...
Marvel G400-TV, AMD K6/2-400 etc...It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings...

Hello, i had posted a question relative to macrovision OUTPUT of the Matrox cards and found out a workaround...
but the forum experienced some alzeimer lately... my post is not there anymore...
Here it is again :
--- i use this only to watch my movies on my TV wich has no VIDEOIN rca jack ( i'm using my VCR to convert to RF Channel-3 ) ----
- i start the DVDPlayer the usual way
- then i do a PAUSE at the begining of the
movie
- I turn ON TVOUT in video settings
- i go to Monitor setting....Adjust current
display mode
- i Click CANCEL
- i get out of Display setting
this is the important part of it....
Someone e-mailed me to ask if it worked on a G400....( i have a Marvel G200TV )
Here my answer:
> My video card is a Marvel G200 TV.
> To enable the TVOUT ( anable video out of the rca jack in the BOB)
> i have a tab in display proprieties named TV OUtput.

G400 and use the DualHead feature wich INCLUDES automatically the

His answer:
Oh yes Migou, it DOES work on the G400 MAX. The "forgetting" seems to still
occur.
Hope this helps for your "legal" purposes...
