The command for macrovision to start is at the begining of the movie...
but AFTER all menus... (at the beginig of all menus ???)

if you return to a menu or it's not the begining of the REAL movie, the macrovision command might be started again...

I tried it with PowerDVD, WinDVD and Cinemaster.... but i think Xing doesn't allow it...

    another thing... maybe it's Movie-related..
so far, the ones i've played worked... but nothing stops the producer for putting the macrovision command anywhere else IN the movie... ( i think..)

    hope this helps..
BTW i have Videotools 1.51e and powerdesk 5.3

    Mig...

        Ok,
        one last thing to try..

You said "changing settings like brightnes"...

i don't know if you can change settings of the "monitor" ( TV OUTPUT of dualhead )
"This" is the setting that i'm talking about..

You must force the matrox driver to display a color bar, or a pattern ( to adjust the dimentions of tvout )

in my drivers ( marvel g200tv ) i have to go to " MONITOR SETTINGS " while my TVOUT is "ON" ..

if i just change brightness or contrast.. nothing happens...

        Good luck..

As for a patch, i've searched everywhere...
i don't think it exist... for now...

        Mig.

If you don't want to get caught up in Macrovision problems then avoid Matrox
