  • Dual head output onto second monitor question.

I can not get a picture from my RRG to go onto the 2 monitor during dual head mode.
Am i just not set up right or do i need to wait for an update to the drivers?

      I have a 450p3 on a Abit bh6 motherboard with win 98 second edition. I am running
PowerDesk 5.30.007. I have G400DH MAX. Nothing overclocked.

Unless Matrox has really done something special with the G400 driver, this is a limitation of of Microsoft's DirectX model.

OTOH, if the G400 dual head indeed supports video overlay not confined to the "primary" display (defined by the one with the taskbar)
which is specific to the RRG then I will order one tomorrow!

        --wally.

Hope you don't mind me butting in here. I don't have a G400 (apart from the Marv) to test this out, but I'm sure one of you can oblige.

Instead of connecting a second monitor to the dualhead, try connecting a TV. You can switch off all dualhead modes while you do this. Then try playing an MJPEG AVI. It should automatically be pushed down the TV-O line to the TV monitor. Now try editing a movie in Ulead MSPro - when you scrub, does it show up on the TV-monitor ?

Hope this helps some of you out
