  • video editing advice sought asap

we have some vhs content that has to get to a capture-card-less apple g4.

the purchase of a miromotion 30plus (at $1300 canadian) was proposed. this
would allow the vhs tape to get on the g4 for editing.

    *OR*

management, for some reason, wants to spend MORE money, and get a DV
camcorder; my question is, can it be used as a 'bridge' to input from VHS
source and then output it across firewire to the G4? their rationale is
future value, from it as a video camera, still-camera, etc.

where are some sites where these DV camcorders are reviewed? which ones
    have/don't have inputs?

    thanks.

personally, i'd get an rt2000 but damn these are macs

Hey, spending more money is easy!!!

Yes, you can convert any analog video source to DV by connecting these sources to a DV camcorder. Most high end DV camcorders will do that; these include Canon GL1, XL1, and Elura, Sony PC100.

Have fun spending money and help Greenspan justify his inflation fear!!
