Does Marvel G400 have better video quality that Ati AIW Pro 128?

Yes. The Marvel has a very high quality video output.

Also the Marvel can capture/play video full frame video with just a 300mhz Celeron system while the ATI requires a 500mhz PIII as a minimum for full frame.

The difference? The Marvel uses hardware compression while the ATI uses software. This takes a big load off the CPU.

But can the Marvel G400TV play DVD's as well.

The AIW has more hardware support for Mpeg2, so the reviews say.

Although my comparitive samples put the AIW ahead of the jagged lines I have seen on the Matrox G400TV mpegs downloaded from this site.

Hi John,

at first I must say that I have a Marvel G400 at home and that I really love the DVD playback with the Matrox-DVD-Player.

At work I must use an ATI-card and believe it or not, but I think I´m getting blind the more I have to use it.
