Are you sure that your VCR supports S-Video ?

I don't think that SCART supports S-Video, only composite. If your VCR doesn't support S-Video then it won't be able to read an S-Video signal no matter how you link it via the SCART. If it supports S-Video then it will have an S-Video connector.

SCART supports S-Video too, just like RGB.

Then I've learned something new today, so I can call the day a success.

But regardless of the cabling, it still won't work if the VCR isn't S-Video.

at one time I saw a faint test image but that's all. So i should try the other type of connector? But then that pisses me off knowing that my vcd is lame. But then how come there are svideo->composite cables? Do these change the signal or the connector? Cause if they don't change the signal then we can feed s-video through anything. I'll get another cable tomorrow then and try...
And something else, why can we then choose scart rgb as output then?
I bought this card second hand, if it's detected by the matrox control panel, does this mean that it's working? I installed direct media 6 instead of the 5 with the latest drivers.
