I’m a UK based user, new to this forum, so please bear with me if this topic has been raised before.
I use a Matrox G400-TV card, and Ulead Media Studio Pro V5.2 for my video editing. I’ve found that any video I capture using the supplied Matrox PC-TV, at 1/4 frame (352 X 288) PAL, 25fps cause the Video Editor module of MSP to crash, when I insert clips onto the time line. I proved the problem is consistent, by trying a number of different PCs, and OS setups. I can replicate the fault at will. Two invalid page faults are generated, one in RRICMEXT.DLL, and the other in RRICM.DLL.
Strange thing is, if I capture full frame, 704 X 576 PAL 25fps, everything works perfectly. Unfortunately, although this gets around the editing problem, the fact that I hit the 2GB limit so quickly is very annoying.
I have emailed Matrox (Canada) tech support twice, and apart from an automated acknowledgement, have received no further communication. Contacting Matrox (UK) has been little better, and I still can’t get a definitive answer from them either.
Apart from the lack of commitment by Matrox, has anyone else experienced the problem outlined above? It may only affect PAL users, but I would be keen to know if others have had similar problems.

Steve Donoghue
