  • My video is still "wibbly"...

    Hi again all

Maybe you remember a while back I posted about a vertical jitter problem with MJPEG recording/playback.

No new drivers have appeared in the 2 months I've been away, so I just wondered if a solution has been found... (please!)

Tech support have given up; they want me to send the RRG back. That would be my third RRG

The problem: anything recorded in MJPEG vibrates verticaly (over one or two lines, at 25 or 50 Hz, I can't be sure) when played back. I have tried G400 drivers 5.13 through 5.50 and Video Tools 1.50, 1.51 and parts of 1.52 that tech support sent me. Nothing makes any difference.

I'm trying to negotiate sending back all my Matrox gear for a full refund. I really didn't want to do this! I'm thinking off getting a GeForce 256 and MiroSTUDIO DC10+.

If anyone has any advice, either how to fix the RRG or whether the GeForce/DC10 combo is a suitable alternative, please reply, I'd love to hear from you!

Hehe, you probably have it close to an electric field that's producing EMF big time causing the RRG to go haywire

      Cheers,

        Sheet, 3 RMA's ? No wonder there's a shortage !

If I was TS I'd be asking some more questions all round. It's rare enough for a single unit to go wrong, but 3 to the same person ?

        Maybe this isn't a hardware problem !

Isn't this the jitter problem that everyone else was complaining about?

Well, my problem is with the so called Evil Frames which cause a vibration in the video output with MJPEGs from the RR-S. For anyone who's interested, here's the thread:

Whether or not wibbly images are related to jitters or to vibration, who really knows? But it's damn annoying!

Didn't Patrick have this problem, too?
