  • TV out while capturing hack..?

Can someone post the Reg Hack to let the TV output of the video while capturing? it's much easier to adjust the brightness and color when you can see it on the tv in realtime. I know this was possible a long time ago, anyone know which key it is?

    thanx

      Here you go..

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Matrox\Vidpres\General .

Change Enable TV out value from 0 to 1.

First of all, what type of card do you have, and are you running it under NT or Win9x?

          Regards,

            Elie,

            I'm running a Marvel G200 on Win98, and the

5.3 drivers and 1.51 video tools. I'd love to make this work as I find calibrating the the output to tape to match the input source the Marvel's second biggest weakness next to the black bars on transcodes.

I'm extreamly happy with the quality of the VHS tapes I'm making, but not happy with the amount of time spent getting the edited ouput to be a good color match to the source.

AVI_IO has soled my capture problems and Media Studio Pro 5.2 fixed the editing troubles.

            --wally.

I am satisfied with these calibration values:

              Playback/TV out,PAL:
              brightness 164
              contrast 255
              saturation 176
              hue 0
              gamma 10

              Recording,Pal, from high-quality SVHS
              source using PC VCR remote:

              brightness 58
              contrast 58
              hue 48
              saturation 56

              Recording,Pal, from cheap VCR
              source using PC VCR remote:

              brightness 66
              contrast 66
              hue 48
              saturation 56

Resistance is futile - Microborg will assimilate you.

Ah sorry. It's a 98SE machine, latest drivers and a Marvel G200. I used to run that hack with the old drivers, and it worked fine. with these new drivers, it appears the reg hack doesn't work anymore.

I used to love to be able to preview the video in realtime, was very handy for fixing color and brightness.

I'm looking for the same thing...

The registry patch mentioned here worked for me with the previous drivers (old..old.....)

                  but not with the latest ( pd5.3 vt1.51 )

                  Mig.

                  (.. i work in NTSC ...)
