    HI I HAVE BEEN TRYING THE PICVIDEO 2 CODEC. BUT IT SEEMS TO MAKE PREMIERE CRASH .HAS ANYONE HAD ANY SUCCESS WITH IT,DOES IT
    SOLVE PREMIERE/RRG COMPATABILITY PROBLEM
    ,IS IT MUCH FASTER. ALSO CAN YOU LET ME NOW HOW TO INSTALL IT AS THE DMB1 CODEC AS IT SEEMS TO CLASH WITH THE MATROX CODEC.

    First please turn off the CAPS key. In "internet-ese" that means you're yelling.

    Premiere? Crashing? Ahhhaahhh.... Sorry to say but that's like saying the sun came up this morning, even on a good day ;-)

    One way to minimize Premere problems is to install it before installing any of your capture or display card drivers. By that I mean uninstalling all things Matrox totally and installing Premiere while using the Windows default VGA driver. Now would also be a good time to update your DirectX installation in case it's been trashed by a game or renegade software. NOW reinstall the Matrox display and capture drivers.

    That said I've had excellent results with the PICVideo 2.0 codec in MediaStudio Pro 5.2 full and the 6.0 beta.

    As for the DMB1 codec clashing with the Matrox MJPeg codec, DMB1 is the FOURCC ("FOUR Character Code") designation for Matrox MJPeg. What's FOURCC? ;

    Look under "Codecs".
