Probs installing new Video tools ;(

Hi,

Just downloaded latest VT,
uninstalled the old one (Add/remove programs)
installed new one on my test Win 98 partition: No problem

Then booted my "work" partition, did the same, following probs:
When double-clicking any .avi Winbrol Media player says can not open Avi file ... The same problem with PC-VCR remote
It works with the old media player only ;(((

Any idea?

Did you read the instructions on the Matrox site ?

On the VTs D/L page it says : "Supported with Display Driver 5.41.008".

And on the D/L section for 5.41.008, it says: "Please uninstall your current drivers using this procedure before installing the 5.41 (above) drivers. To uninstall 5.xx drivers you need our uninstaller utility."

Using windows uninstall will NOT do the trick

well doesn't it mean that if you want to update the DISPLAY driver, you have to uninstall it first..

Does it have sthing to do with the VTools ?
I have already the latest dispaly driver ...
