  • Distored Audio From Capture

    Hi guys,
I do get distored audio from my captured AVI
file with my Marvel G200. My sound card seem
to be good cause all other program using it
doesnt have any problem. Does anyone have a
    suggestion for my problem? Thanks.

    My Config:
    P III 500E (oc 730), VIA693A chipset with on
board Sound, Marvel G200,Fastrak66 with two
    Maxtor 20G.

I do restore all driver again But still failed, Even with another Sb16 installed
    and not oc my CPU.

    Hey FatFish,

Audio problems can only be due to your soundcard, cause the Marvel board doesn't treat or capture the audio in any way. I suggest trying to reduce your "recording" levels, cause some cards saturate if the level is to high. If that doesn't work, try looking for an update to your sound drivers.

    good luck!
    Sandman.

I've found that checking the 'mixer' util that comes with the soundcard can sometimes help. I have a number of 'sources' connected (both in and out) to my soundcard (SB PCI128). When capturing, I always make sure that only the vid source slider is turned up (possibly the AUX input). I've found that if other sources are also turned up, eg. WAV, SYNTH, CD etc, that they create a phase-loop and tend to 'cancel out' each other. Once I turn everything else down, the Vid source sounds fine. (This is prob a wiring issue for my setup, but this solution works for now)
