  • Chris - Please reduce the font size, it's huge

When I go to the news page the font size is ginormous. I've got IE5 set to medium fonts. If I set it to smaller it's waaaaay too small when I go to other sites.

    I'm running a 21" taxan at 1280x1024

    Pooh,

Sorry that it doesn't look right for you. It's set up in my CSS file as a "standard" font, ie it doesn't have a pre-determined font size. In the case of the "normal" font, that is Verdana(normal). The only place that I specify a font size is "linksmall" which is the font used in the drop-down menu's (FAQs and News).

I've tested the site on IE5 with identical visual results as MS5 on my setup (Goldstar 19" @1024*768 using whatever is the default setup).

Is anyone else having any problems in this field? (this is where I hate being a webmaster)

      Well, some oddities...

I'm using IE5; changing the font display size has little effect. As a matter of fact, the tables just shift around on the front page. None of the text changes in size at all!

Thinking this strange, I examined the source, and come to find out, every element has a font size set for it. (???) What's up? Did I miss something? That, and the fact that I'm running 1280x1024 and seeing nothing wrong... well, it just didn't add up...

...until I tried setting everything to "Large Fonts" in Display->Settings->Advanced... (shudder) EGAD! All the graphics are going freaky! As soon as this message is done, I'm going back.

But my guess is, that's probably it. Point sizes (such as those specified on the front page) are affected by that setting; other pages (like Yahoo!) don't use point sizes. Set your display settings back to "Small Fonts," and IE5 back to medium fonts, and I'll bet everything will look fine.

(wow! i'm getting dizzy... what a waste of good resolution!)
