Ulead MediaStudio vs VideoStudio

Just curious, what is the real difference between MediaStudio and VideoStudio. I tried looking on Ulead's web page, but I couldn't find an explination.

VideoStudio was designed as an entry level Non-Linear Editing (NLE) package. It is a very nice little program with lots of features, for the price. It's only real drawback is that it's limited by the maximum file size that windows allows, but this shouldn't be a problem for anyone who's just starting out.

MediaStudio Pro was designed for those who are doing more than just a few little snippets of video for the web, etc. The big difference between this and VideoStudio is that a project can be as big as one's hard drives will hold, since a project can be played out to tape using 'cutlist' playback of all the separate clips in the project. In other words, the whole project doesn't have to be rendered into one big file, the way VideoStudio does.

MediaStudio Pro is also a suite of five different video related programs, which is really quite a bargain at the price.

But videostudio 4 alledgedly has real-time Mpeg encoding which mspro 5.2 has not!

MediaStudio is a professional-level editor.
VideoStudio is a consumer-level video editor.

MediaStudio version 6 will also have the
MPEG-2 capabilities.
