You are having the same problem as me.
First off you can't export movie and choose mpeg4 to make an .avi unless you install the beta mpeg4 dll.(check for a recent post with "Old mpeg4 codec.I need it please") the old .dll still allowed export as .avi.
Now onto your first problem. This is one I share. The only way at the moment for me to export to asf my complete movie(with all my edits and such) is to save it as an .avi doesn't matter what codec. Then start new project, load in the saved .avi double click on it in the time line so it opens it in the source window, Now export to ASF works.
This is what you will have to do for now.
Now the wierd thing is I used to be able to capture video, edit it, then export straight to asf with all my edits included, but now no matter what I try I can't get it to work. If I export like that I get an asf of my raw Video1 from the time line(the source window) Do you know of a way to get the source window to select the rendered project?
