  • Has anyone experienced this RRG problem?

    Greetings,

I have owned a Rainbow Runner G (with a G200 Mystique) for about 4 months now and I have always experienced a strange problem. When ever I load Premiere or After Effects I get a small window pop up saying "no PCI board detected". I press the OK button on the window then everything seems to work fine. The problem is when I go to run the CPU benchmark in the video tools directory I get the same message and it won't let me benchmark the MJPEG codec.

This didn't really bother me since everything seemed to work fine anyway, I could capture and playback .avi's no problem, that is until a few weeks ago.

Sometimes when I boot my PC and I go to play an .avi encoded with the RRG it says the codec is not available. I then go into my display > advanced properties and look in the information tab. To my surprise the only add on listed is a "digital flat screen connector" which I don't have, everything else that should be there (TV out, TV Tuner, MJPEG codec, etc) is missing.

This problem started a few weeks ago and is usually fixed by a simple reboot but as of last week even that doesn't help.

I have tried everything I can think of, reinstalling the drivers from scratch, changing PCI slots for the RRG, checking that the RRG is in the PCI slot properly, etc. Nothing seems to work anymore and after every reboot something else is showing in the information tab.

I have since removed the RRG from my PC and when I load Premiere the "no PCI board detected" still pops up.

Can anyone help me solve this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Here are my system details:
PIII 450, 128Mb RAM, Abit BE6 M/B, Sony 6x DVD, Panasonic 4x CDR, Soundblaster Live

I had a similiar error ("digital flatscreen panel" instead of my RR-G being detected) as well. The solution was to change my power supply to one that gave 0.5 Amps at -5V and -12V.

    Good luck..

Thanks, I have been meaning to get a new case and power supply anyway, although I don't hold out for much hope in this solution. My RRG has been working fine for months and it has just started doing this in the last few weeks. I re-installed it again this morning and on the first boot the only listed add ons in the info was TV Tuner then after a simple reboot it went back to digital flat screen connector. Anyway, i'll give this solution a shot.

If anyone else knows what may be causing this problem please let me know :-)
