RRS, VirtualDub, and YUY2

My second attempt at getting the full answer. Does the regedit apply to the RRS? And do I simply select, modify and type in "YUY2" to replace "Mjpeg". This is what I have done. When in VirtualDub when I try to select YUY2 I get an "error 418: Unsupported video format" Is there certain setting I should have in compression(AVIcap) or compression(internal)I've been trying with the divx codec(as its mpeg4) I've gone through the help files but in regards to what I'm trying I really need your guys help.
