Hello,
I just purchased a Pinnacle PC-TV this week. I currently live in a 8'10' dorm room and decided that a $45 tv-tuner was a better investment (money and space) than an actual TV.
Anyways, I got it for the sole purpose of watching TV, but after playing with it and reading up, I am curious about what sort of stuff I can accomplish with video capture using software only.
What frame-rate, resolution, etc etc should I strive for, or expect. What are some good free/shareware programs to use, especially codecs? If it ends up I can't do a damn thing with this setup, then oh well, because I really didn't intend to. I am just curious about what sort of advice I could get to squeeze some performance out of this thing.
system:
Celeron: 400(66mhz)
Ram: 320meg (<--gotta love ubid.com, $150)
HD: Seagate 7200rpm (udma33)
VD: V3-3000agp
I also have a Matrox G200 in a box someplace.
Thanks,
-Erik
