    Does the old cutlist editing plug-in
    for the Rainbow Runner plug-in to
    MediaStudio Pro 6? How does that
    work now?

    The MSP6 help files have some notes concerning the Matrox cards (ie. some Ulead32.ini settings).

    MSP6 uses now the OpenDML format by default, which requires you to force the program to behave properly with older hardware.

    I'll check the settings when I get home, but from memory, you have to tell it not to use OpenDML for saving, as well as force it to render audio for preview (which it doesn't by default, and causes the "multiple file..." error).

      cutlist playback (preview) for the RR works the same in 6 as it did in 5.2, so that's not what's going on with this one. The trouble with this one, however, is there's no info on what properties the captured clips were, and what format the saved file is. It seems to indicate that they are different. Probably, the project properties have to be changed to match the captured clip properties...

      Basically, though, with the RR and MS6, it's the same as in 5.2 where you simply hit the preview play button, wait for transitions and effects to render, and it'll show up on the preview window and output simultaneously to the video output of the RR.

        But... it sounds as if the Preview Options
        dialogue has gone away and/or changed? Yes? No?

          Here are the settings I was trying to remember previously:

          [HardwareACC]
          NotSaveOpenDML=1
          ;RecompressWhenScrubbing=1
          DisableAcc1=0
          HwCodecID=dmb1
          ;AlwaysKeepLastFrame=1
          DirectAccessDVAudio=1

          [VCAP4_CAPTURE]
          DisableDriverBeforePlayback=1

          [Playback]
          RenderAudio=1
          PlayDll1=C:\PROGRA~1\MATROX~1\MCLPlugin.dll
          (The plugin has propably a different name for RRS, ie. icutlist.dll)

          The preview options seems to have vanished, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't matter (propably using the project settings).

          With these settings, and setting the project settings to same as on the captured file, the preview from timeline works just as good as with the previous version.

          Even though MSP6 now has the ability to save bigger than 2GB files, it is better to keep the filesizes below the magic limit.

            Jerry, preview options have been locked into project properties with version 6.

              I found with the RRS and MSPRO 6 that unless the clips were exactly the FPS that the project is set up as ie 25 fps it will want to re-render the whole clip/project when you hit the spacebar. (Clips were 24.997 fps) MSPRO 5 did not care about this small difference.
