  • How to calibrate color ?

For me, this topic is a tough one, hopefully not for some of you freaks out there: I have several places to go in order to adjust color, but I do not know what is the best procedure to get it done with the best result.

What I do not have, unfortunately, is a camcorder that generates a color test pattern. My system: Sony TR845E, Marvel G400TV-AGP, Iiyama Vision Master 17 (MF8617E). Capture: AVI_IO, PC/VCR or MSP52/VC.

    What I can adjust:
    - Monitor color temperature
    - Color settings on the Display Properties:Advanced:Matrox:Color tab, which by the way do not change if I change the video capture display settings.
    - Video capture display settings (not available in PC/VCR?)

Are there still more ? What way should I adjust the colors, go get what I expect (i.e. true(:-)color)? Which of those settings is going to influence the colors of my recording ? Which those of the playback to tape ? Can I adjust them separately ?

I appreciate all your inputs ! And thanks in advance !

Hi I would would first setup your monitor.
To do this properly you should use something like Video Essentials. Then you can match the inputs to match. If you have a dvd drive Video Essentials is available on dvd.It walks you through all settings eg. contrast, brightnass, hue, saturation. You should be able to adjust these in control panel, display. You can then use the colorbar.bmp file on Ulead cd to set up capture.I put this bmp on the start of every tape and/or cd I make. Sorry bout the long response.
