  • Do sub-$100 FireWire cards exist?

You read the topic heading. Where can I find a sub-$100 FireWire card?

Heck, even the cables for FireWire/DV connections are pricy!!

Fluggo, the "regular" price in stores for the Pyro boards here in Vancouver is $149(Cdn). There should be NO problem finding this or other similar cards for less than $100(US) in the States.

Cool... I searched it down to $75. But it includes video editing software, which I've got already.

So... can we go even lower, then?

fluggo, the ADS Pyro board that ships with the software also includes a cable. I think the card only version is cheaper but includes no cable either. Like you said the cable is expensive. Less than $100 for card and cable is pretty low, don't you think? Sell the software to someone that wants to upgrade to MSP6.
