Ok I know I have asked about this before, but the suggestion and help given (Thanks to all) didn't solev the problem, so here I am again. The learning cure for me is vertical so be gentle with me. teehee

    I am running a Marvel G400 I have MSP ver6.
I am trying to record mpg & avi videos to tape. The clips are 352 x 240 so I guess they are ntsc, I am in Australia on pal.

Is there any way to get thes clips to tape without converting them to avi at pal sizing.

Hope this is clearer to you than it is to me.

The only video that will go out the video out line has to be compatible with the MJPEG hardware codec for your card. That means there are only three or four frame sizes that will 'fit', and these are listed somewhere in help, or in the manual, etc. The compression has to be the matrox mjpeg for this to work.

Hi, had the same problems to record MPEGs to VCR (PAL)
Switching the Marvel G400 in Dual Head Clone->Use DVD Max mode solved it for me.

          Hi, jeff b,
NO I didn't. But I tried before to convert PAL to NTSC. It worked to make the files, (so it's not the problem...) but the VCR and the TV set, ofcourse, they doesn't accept the oposite standard (if not a special VCR for both standards)
IF you have such a machine then, I suppose you can do the records.
Before I've had some problems to record even PAL to PAL MPEG's. It works now, BUT only when Dual Head Clone is enabled and Use DVD Max is selected in the PD (5.41 with me) I'm capturing & recording with the PC VCR (VT 1.52), Marvel G400.
MPEG1, MPEG2 are fine but VCD files usually kick out the red color or H-sync on my TV (PAL)
My (my wifes ) 14" TV antenna input is connected to the VCR antenna out. The VCR has a SCART connection to the BOB (6 lines, 1 video & 2 audio IN, + 1 video & 2 audio OUT)
In this combination I can see what I record, BUT sometimes the audio dissapears, don't know why. The cure could be:
1- Switch the PC VCR to TV for reinitializing the audio, and back to file mode again.
2- Bypass the audio on the BOB. It works.

So, I'm affraid it wasn't the right answer to dasher's question, but it IS an answer, anyway, as a result of my experience to discover the wheel...
