  • Harddrives for rt2000

I am considering upgrading from my g400tv to RT2000 I have checked compatabilty and all is okay. Matrox recommends two hard drives, I have been running on a petitioned 30gig on my current system, and would like if possible to upgrade to an extra drive at a later date. Has anybody used rt2000 on a petitioned drive or is this a big Nono?
    Thanks

With petitioned I suppuse you mean partitioned, right ?

I don't think the RT2000 cares what hard disk you use, for as long as it is fast enough to keep up with the data-stream and as long that there is enough free space to store your captured file.

Personally I am awaiting my RT2000 which I have ordered and which comes "bundeled" with a 40GB AV-disk and a fast ATA-3 disk controller. I didn't really need the controller, but I'm gonna use it as a terionary device since all of my 4 IDE-devices are allready taken.

Also, the "AV" indication means that the hard disk will not perform any 'hiccups' which can cause dropped frames. Normal hard disks periodically re-align the heads, AV-disks don't.
