  • Edit DV or DV Raptor w/Premiere?

I've got a G400 duel head and an RRG. I want to get rid of the RRG and get a DV card with software. What's the better hardware/software combination? The Digital Origin Edit DV (now owned by Media 100) or theCanopus DV Raptor with Premiere? Videoguys has the Edit DV on special for $499 so the price for the two options is about the same. Any insight you have would be greatly appreciated.

Happy with ADS Pyro over here. Also check out the Datavision IEEE1394 card which gets the thumbs-up from Computer Video mag, and at a low price too (www.datavision.co.uk)

Haven't forgotten about you YIPPEE. Its tax time and I've been scrambling. Found the article: Its from a professional oriented Magazine, DV (Digital Video) June 1999, "Seven FireWire Boards Compared". Information is probably still worthwhile though getting a little dated. I'll try and come up with a summary when I get a chance.

Here's there web site. I've never checked it out. Maybe there's something on there.

          Xortam-
Thanks for the info. I'm leaning towards the EditDV since the new version 2.0 looks pretty intuitive. Anyone have any experience or general thoughts?
