I understand that many are suppoting me in this, but there is really no need to get angry. In fact with the new forums there is the option of private mail which I believe can alleviate some of the open venting. Brian, Chris, Simon and others, thank you. The reasons that you stated are all valid reasons and is why I did what I did. I can tell you that of the many forums here I only visit two and its mostly desktop video. However, Greebe sees things a bit differently, thats his opinion. Maybe he will see the need to extend an apology to Chris but again thats up to him.

OK my children, let's draw a line under this.

Greebe has his own opinions, I've got mine.

Still, this is my place (by the grace of Ant), and I've been moderating it for several years now. It seems to do the job that the visitors want and it has the family feel that I was aiming for. Sure it's loose - I don't care for over-regulation. Anyway, the hockey section would riot if I tried to shut them down.

I've also interracted with the other moderators on a friendly basis without overburdening them with my own problems or views, and I think that we've all reached a happy medium (apart from Greebe apparently).

I really don't give a monkey's hoot whether Greebe likes the way I run this forum or not - he's got his own forum and can run it exactly how he likes as far as I'm concerned. With regard to the other MURC forums, I have to admit that I rarely read them. I don't have the time. So instead of imposing or enforcing petty regulation, I spend the limited time I have available reading the posts on my own forum and trying to give advice where I can.

Enough has been said. I didn't start this, I didn't get personal. I'm saying no more.

I'll conceed this...

I started what turned into a flame by telling one of your forum members not to cross post and to be honest that should have been the end of it. Even DJ agreed, and that should have been the end of it all. But then Brian posted up his opinion which is fine with me, especially since he doesn't have the job of a moderator and doesn't realise even how we do run the other forums. I took notice of his remarks and noted them. I'm fine with pretty much what he said.

Chris you on the other hand started the flamefest with your comments

If you don't know what is what elsewhere on the forums, then maybe you shouldn't depict me as being the lone gunman. Which is what both of you (Brian and Chris) did.

First of all Chris, you've never talked to me and that in itself could have prevented this from the get go.
Until that flame, I thought we got along fine also (albiet non communicative).

BS, All I did was tell DJ not to cross post and a simple explanation as to why, which from what you've already half heartedly stated, you don't know about how the other forums are run.

Now I can conceed I did go a bit further this time than the few other, but since you obiviously don't have the time, maybe you shouldn't make broad sweeping statements directed toward me or how the rest of the forums are run, No?

ending comment: I like Chris none the less over this and from long ago can tell he's a very knowledgeable straight up laid back guy. I have no problem with that, or his lack of time to be active in the other forums, for most people don't.
Brian, I don't have a problem with you either.

So can we all just chalk this up to an essay on what is what and why and leave it at that?

Non communication among people begets flames like this, which is easily avoidable 99% of the time when there is a meeting of the minds. Hopefully this has been accomplished now.

(I'm still open for further comment (and the way I see it, at least we won't regress as before))
