It could be good if they can fix it so it doesn't crash all the time.
Personally I'd like to see them drop the windows version and put all effort into the Linux version. The market is already crowded with "low end" video editing packages on Windows. I think lots of people will be looking for alternatives if the intrusiveness of XPs "forced registration/activation" is not reduced or removed completely for the final version. Question is will there be any non-windows alternatives (besides the Mac)? If Apple ported OS X to Intel hardware, I'd place an order for it now!
Based on my testing of XP beta2 and RC1 I'll be staying with windows 2000.
