  • DV to DivX. problems

Hi, i want to encode my DV vacationmovies to DivX. But it sounds easier than it is. I can do it with premiere 6, but the result is very bad. In Virtual dub i can't open DV-avi's. What method works.

In premiere i get very odd video when converting. When the picture moves i get lines(like a overlay problem).
Some months ago i had a DVB-card, so i could also watch satelite-TV on my computer. But when watching TV i also had these lines when the picture was moving(also some overlay problem i think).

Is it the G400 what's causing the bad encodings?
I searched and searched but haven't found an answer yet.

    who can help me out.

Hi, these lines disappear, when you apply deinterlace in Premiere.
When I need send my DV video to VirtualDub, I use Avisynth "http://www.math.berkeley.edu/~benrg/avisynth.html"

    Maybe this help,

I got it running already. I did select the deinterlace in premiere but that didn't help. I used avisynth later and used the deinterlace filter in virtualdub and then i worked fine.
      But thanks for the reply.

I'm using TMPEG and those filters it has. You can output as AVI by selecting File --> Output to file --> AVI file.
