(Following up the old post which i cant find anymore) Tinnes, I bought myself an RX-II Video Stabilizer and it fixed 90% of the problems so it was indeed Macrovision causing these problems. Unfourtunatly some distortions sneak in somehow but it did make a huge difference. Does anyone know of a stabilizer that is under 100$ and works perfect against Macrovision Encoding.

Hey cool. Where did you get it from and how much did it cost?
Can you post a screen shot of the new improved picture quality?
Cheers Tinnes

I really need to know from someone who's already tested a different devices than the RX-II. On one of my tapes it helps alot but doesnt fully remove the Macrovision while on another tape it makes it worse, causing shifting in the picture. If theres anyone out there who has a device different than the RX-II and knows it works perfectly please let me know.

With the RX II , be sure you use a top quality battery. And also check the battery voltage to insure true 9 volt charge. If that is ok then you sholdn't have a problem with the decoder. I have had mine for several years, and the only time , I have experinced any problems was when the battery was low.

I'm not sure how strong the 9 volt in it is, it came included with one.. I would assume its brand new but im not really sure, but the unit itself looks new.. Some flashing and other distortions sneak in every minute or so and on some tapes that have macrovision it makes it even worse.. On one of my tapes it causes alot of shifting in the picture, while on another tape it works pretty good but i still see some color bands at the top and an occasional distortion.

I bought mine from hightechdepot.com for 50$ USD. I don't suggest you buy this one considering it let's in some distortions still. I have to find out if maybe the battery is weak but somehow I have a feeling it isn't. If it is the battery i'll let you know but right now stay away from the RX-II, Cause on 1 tape it helps but for a capture it doesnt help enough, frames still get dropped from an occasional flash and there are still some annoying distortions and it even makes some tapes look worse. I wish the guy who made Macrovision would die
