  • matrox splash screen

It may seem unimportant but I want to change the splash screen that Matrox pops up on my monitor everytime I boot my non-linear program. I use Premiere with the Matrox cards and I really find their screen annoying. I tried just deleting the splash.avi on my hard drive, even substituted one of my own with the same name. But Matrox overwrites it with their page. I really want to do a custome one for our stations.
anyone have any experience with this? Where do they hide the command?

    thanks

    Hi,

    I don't have splash.avi on my system. (I have a G400 Marvel).

But if you're sure that splash.avi is the right file (I wouldn't expect it to be a video -- more likely a BMP), then check the file size of splash.avi and then do a Find->Advanced and enter the file size. If you find a file of the exact same size, that's probably the one that gets copied to splash.avi before it gets played.

What Matrox card do you have?

If JT's post doesn't work, I've never tried it with an avi file, but normally to change splash screens (& I've done a few) you can use exescope -- open the files and look under resource until you find the right one, export it, alter it maintaining exact size, and import.

Might be another way to try anyway
