Matrox Marvel G200 Excessive White

I have a Matrox Marvel G200 PCI and when capturing home videos, a lot of areas which are close to white but still have color, such as areas light reflects off more than the rest, look overexposed. These areas always look overexposed in the regular display and the capture no matter how much I adjust the settings. I tried the color calibration in the MSP6 trial and my color is calibrated.

Is this normal, and do other capture cards such as the Marvel G400 exhibit this behaviour?
