What Video Format in Canada ?

I have been asked to send a tape to Canada. Can anyone confirm the following for me.

1 - Is the format in Canada NTSC ?

2 - If it is is the situation similar to that in the UK in that most modern video recorders bought over here will play not only PAL tapes but NTSC tapes.

1) Yes, the broadcast TVsystem in Canada is NTSC-M
2) Despite its low quality, they don't bother about other systems, so is very unlikely to find a multisystem VCR
