  • Anyone have working Marvel g200 no tuner under Win2k?

Does anyone have a marvel g200 without tv tuner working under windows 2000 to capture video?

Here are the threads on matrox forums...

    Here...

    Here...

It seems that at least a few of us are getting no video bar a nice green overlay colour with a black box in the top left....
I think we are all using BX based motherboards.

Does anyone out there have a g200 without tuner actually working under win2k?

If so, what motherboard do you have?

    TIA

    Jason

I'm currently using my AGP G200 Marvel without the BOB hooked up as the only video card my test system that is triple boot Linux-W2K-XPRC2 without problems. I have an ASUS P2B and PIII-5000 CPU, 256 MB RAM, ISA SB16 sound card, ADS pyro 1394 card and Netgear FA310 network card. All seems to work as expected.

I'm also running a non-marvel G200 AGP card as the secondary adapter on an ASUS P2B-D at 1600x1200 on windows 2000 with no problems.

Jasonjlee and all others having this problem.

What are your desktop resolution and bit depth, refresh rates??
Can you please provide us with that info?

      Thanks,
      Elie

Now if I recall correctly, your quite a regular around here...

Sometimes a Matrox Hardware beta tester from memory??

With 32 bit, the windowed tv display is now completely green across the whole screen.. At least thats different.

But however, 1024x768 and 800x600 have been tried, at 16bit color.. Just tried with 24 bit, and got told by pcvcr it is not supported..

Refresh rate... Just tried the default 60 - 85 no difference.

If you check back thru the trail of links to the offical matrox forum, most other details are in there.

You will also find a couple of people who have cycled between new and older drivers, with as far as I can tell no other changes.

        New drivers = GREEN
Old = working (or at least displaying some video)

So I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue.

Maybe calling the last set 'FINAL' was perhaps a little premature. Prehaps 'Untested against the most popular chipset in the last five years' or 'Not sure if it works against older cards, but I ain't gonna go and find one and install it and all that bother, no one will notice' would have been a better heading....

          wkulecz:

Sorry, missed your post somehow the last time I posted.

The problem we are having is with the Video capture part. As a graphics card, it is functioning fine.

If you follow the links in my original post, you will see what I mean. I have also edited the original post to make it more explicit.

Perhaps I could persuade you to connect your BOB and test your video capture and see if it is working, as the p2b was BX based, and I would love to know what you get.

          Regards

          Jason

Add me to the no input/capture list. The behavior I get i similar to Jason's.

Sorry I didn't realize that there was a version of the G200 Marvel that had capture but no tuner. Since the tuner is in the BOB....
              me culpa.

On w2k the G200 capture is basically broken by design, unless you have a fast machine, as MJPEG support has been dropped.

Previous versions of the driver crashed too much for me to even try to use.

Also add myself to the "growing" list of people that are unable to get their Marvel G200 (no TV Tuner) working under win2000 with the lastest set of drivers.. Only works back with the beta ones (5.0.06) Seems we have been shafted by Matrox again

                  Same here.

                  Only the beta drivers work.

I have a Matrox G200 Marvel without tv-tuner as well.

                          no problems jeroen
it works great for me too, but i still have a problem...
I can only capture with programs like VirtualDub 'cause i don't have the recording settings. (version 204)
(I had same trouble before to apply the patch)
Between I had the parameters of recording with the version beta (version 200e)

                          Any help ?

Ok it's normal here is a post from a guy at matrox.com forum :

"With the final drivers, the recording options have been dropped. Third party applications could be used to capture" Vicken.
