I'm curious, how does MSP6's GoMotion MPEG2 full resolution capture look in comparison to hardware MJPEG compression? Anyone have any samples I could download? I know a Pentium III is required, but how fast?

DavidHM,
I tryed it. The quality is not bad, but they where unusable slow for me.
Maybe for my old AMD K6/2-400, 64 Mb SDRAM and 6,4 Gb Fujitsu dedicated HDD?
I don't know why, but captured hardware MJPEGs converted to MPEG2s, in full res 704x576PAL (with the Ligos built in MSP6) work quite normal from HDD but slow from CD-R on NEC 32x drive.
It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings...

Sorry, I don't have any clips for you to download, but I have been trying to do full res (704x480 @29.97). Even with the YUY2 hack in place, I cannot keep up with a PIII 500+256M and pretty fast disks. The processor falls behind encoding when there is a lot of difference between frames.
I'm looking to upgrade my box to attempt to resolve this, but haven't gotten out to spec out the box yet. I've been successful doing NTSC VCD captures (352x240 @29.97) and they've looked ok for VCDs, but not what I am happy with.
