  • Win2k SP2..Good Idea?

Is it a good idea to upgrade to SP1 or 2? I usually do keepup to date on all the newest versions of stuff, unless it is determined that it sucks.

SP-2 fixes about 3 pages worth of bugs over and above SP-1, which in turn fixed about that many in the normal Win2K installation. Many of these are useful to video, particularly if you're doing DV or want to use NTFS.

    ATA-100 support

The ability to convert FAT32 drives over 20g to NTFS (a bug limited this to 20g previously)

Bug fixes for both OHCI and IEEE-1394 (device connectivity, stability, R/W errors to IEEE-1394 HD's etc.)

    Leaks in the Registry (YIKES!!)

    Various and sundry memory leaks

    Stability issues

    etc. etc. etc.

    Do it.
