    Hi, Flying Dutchman,

    I'm not at home right now, so cannot advise on bios settings...

    Anyway, for sure, I've installed DirectX 8.0a & the DX capture patch, as per Doc's suggestion in earlier posts....

    I'll inform you about Bios settings tonight...

    Ciao!

      Antiproton containment is done using a combination of technologies.

      Lasers are used to super-cool the particles in a vacuum chamber with both magnetic and electric fields doing the actual containment.

      HiPAT is such a technology. Synergistics is Synergistics Technologies, a company in Los Alamos NM that is working on a better version of both antiproton and anti-hydrogen containment.

      Anti-hydrogen is stored by magnetic containment in Ioffe-Pritchard traps after being super-cooled.

      Article on antimatter propulsion at NASA;

      Note the fusion in a bottle device dreamed up by Filo T Farnsworth, the guy credited with inventing TV. They're now testing it.

      Fermilab and CERN are producing antiprotons by slamming beams into various targets. Fermilabs injector is a new method of injecting the beam into the target chamber to get higher production rates.

      Antimatter Induced Microfusion is one of two systems being researched right now. The other is Antimatter-Catalyzed Micro-Fission/Fusion.

      In ACMFF a pellet of deuterium-tritium (aka: D-T) and Uranium 238 (not the kind used in nuclear weapons!) is compressed by particle beams and then irradiated with a beam of antiprotons. The antiprotons are readily absorbed by the U-238 which then fissions, releasing neutrons that compress the D-T mixture until it undergoes a fusion reaction. The electrically charged by-products then become the rockets reaction mass.

      In AIM, Antimatter Induced Microfusion, the pellet is liquefied and injected into a container housing an antiproton plasma. As in ACMFF the U-238 absorbs the antiprotons and fissions to compress the remainder - D-T, or the more fusible D-Helium 3, to fusion temperatures. As in ACMFF the charged particles become the reaction mass.
