I am experimenting with different file formates, MPEG's VCD MJPEG's etc. using the MSP6.
Playing back this files with the PC-VCR or sometimes with the latest MS MediaPlayer, I've got a strange problem with my second display, the TV. For showing MPEG2 on the TV I need to switch the Dual Head Clone for DVD Max on. I let it stay on.
A.-First the basic file was captured with PC-VCR, Matrox-MJPEG, 704x576 PAL.
All derived, 10 sec long files, are prepared with MSP6.
-After showing an MPEG2 on PC-VCR I switched over to TV (cable channels). The image surprized me. It showed complementary colours. I mean the red become blue etc. Stepping the TV channel forward and back, the image went normal again. The TV tuner seems to need a little chock to switch on normal.
-My TV is connected via the built in tuner in my VCR. I tried to change both the VCR and TV settings without any difference of this "negativ colours"
-After some try I discovered that unplugging and resetting the antenna jack to the BOB, randomly cured the problem (after a 1/2 sec. of broken picture, probably for resetting the H-sync)
It's important to point out that the computer monitor is not affected by this misscoloration.
B.-Second, when I used the Morgan MJPEG (FourCC:MJPG) compression in the MSP6 project setting and used a Morgan compressed basic file to create the different MPEGs, this colour problem appeared more sever. Not only the TV picture but even the played file became "negativ coloured". Sometimes the only help was to restart the computer.
My question is about the eventuality of a faulty BOB, or just an instability of the TV-tuner in the BOB? Is it a PD(5.41) or VT(1.52) problem? Is it a DH Clone DVD Max question? Should I live with it or should I contact Matrox?
(...DO YOU HEAR ME, MATROX?...)
Any ideas, PLEASE.
Computer: AMD K6/2-400, 64Mb 3,5 + 6,5 Gb HDD and, of course Marvel G400-TV.
