  • MJPEG interlacing probs ex Prem to MPEG1/2...

Had a few probs with this and am trying to bed down a good encode method I can use all the time.

I capture my stuff in Win98SE Matrox PCVCR at either 704x576 6:1 compression (highest quality) or at 352x288 4:1 compression.

With 704x576(PAL) I have to deinterlace (keep aspect ratio) in the timeline before export to AVISynth>TMPEGEnc and miniDVd format at 5Mbps, no matter what I do with the export settings in Prem and the import settings in TEMPEGenc.

With 352x288(PAL) I have to export it to 704x576 on export to AVISynth>TMpegenc and then run the 352x288 PAL VCD encode. Otherwise it shows bad interlacing lines on the encode.
I've noticed this with LSX2 MPEG encoder too. Bad encodes from 352x288 stuff even when it is deinterlaced...its gotta be resized exPrem and then encoded to 352x288 VCD format in another encoder...

    Any ideas?
