  • Scheduled recording software for win2k?

I've seen this question posted before but with no answers.

Is there a scheduleable recording software package that allows channel selection that works with win2k and matrox g400 tv?

I use AVI_IO but it does not permit channel selection.

My WinTV should be in the mail soon, so I'm looking for the same thing. Have you taken a look at the Arstechnica A/V forum FAQ. Lots of cool stuff there an worth wading thourgh for the nuggets of info and links to cool stuff you find.

OT browsing around the other night looking for video recording software I ran across a package that turns your PC into a digital vcr with an interface kinda like tivo. It was a full screen deal looked very nice and I think it was cheap too ( 30 bucks ?) Any one know what it was that I found ? I didn't seem to bookmark it and I can't seem to figgure out where it is in the history folder on my browser.

    Found it... ShowShifter
shakeupmedia.com is available for purchase. Get in touch to discuss the possibilities!

    $29.95

I tried the trial version of show shifter but it doesn't work with the win2k drivers. I don't want to go buy a new video card just to get this to work in 2k.

I haven't tried it out yet, but they need a WDM driver and I "think" that the last matrox driver is a VFW driver.

powervcd, winvcr and showshifter do not support the matrox g400tv in win2k.

Looks like these programs want the Brooktree tuner as well. Markus Zingg wrote some code a whle back for these type of tuners to do scheduling, but it did not work with the Marvel.

              Well this sucks...

I think all win2000 drivers have to be WDM and may have a VFW wrapper. But I'm not sure. Any way I'm out of idea's.

Buy a cheap VCR, hook its output to your Marvel, program it to record wht you want. Use AVI_IO to record the VCR output at the proper time(s).

                --wally.
