  • Marvel G400-TV question

    Hey,
I had my G400-TV capping at 3 megs/s MJPEG at 704x576, but after formatting my HD I can only get it capping at 1.44 meg/s
    any ideas?

    Cheers

    What OS, and VT's version?

Are you using PC-VCR or another cap app?

Is DMA enabled on all HD's?

Is it dropping frames or just won't allow you to change the quality?

Or make sure that you re-run the Matrox HDTest utility. This writes details about your HD's ability into the registry, and if the reg details can't be found the capture driver assumes a low transfer rate and acts accordingly

Of course, I misread and thought that he just reformatted the capture disc.

No no it's not dropping frames thats the prob, it's the fact I can't set it any higher, it won't go higher than 1.44 megs/s

You can try this. In notepad copy and paste the following into a new text document and save it as MJPEG quality.reg by saving it as "all Files" option. This will give you a 3.5:1 ratio of compression. You can edit to the default of "50" if you want, but this will crank it up a little.

                Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

                [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Matrox\RainbowRunner\0 \VidCap\CurrentValues\MjpegQuality]
                @="83"
