  • Inexpensive TBC?

    Hi,

    I have read that using a TBC increases the signal quality of an analog device. Is there anyone out there that knows whether or not this makes a difference?

    Is there anyone that knows of an inexpensive TBC (NTSC) that gives good results? I want it more for experimenting than anything else.

    Thank you

    Data Video makes a PCI mounted TBC card for about $225;

    Others can be had as either rack or tabletop models, but these start at $350 and up.

    TBC's basically work by applying a new synch pulse. Devices like the Elite Video BVP-4+ do the same thing but add even more functionality in allowing you to correct color and other quality anomalies. They are also great for outputting, especially for recording to VHS.

    The BVP-4+ runs $730 and is well worth it. I wouldn't be without mine.
