how do you set the line input level? should I let the level meter just go into red? should I not let it go to red etc...? I am using the versajack as the line out to a mackie1202vlz mixer. the level meter on the 1202, which is a very accurate, versitile reading of the sound unlike other mixers in its class, reads hardly any signal. in other words, its cranked and reading red on the software mixer, but barely reading at all on the mackie mixer. also, I only wish I had a little bit better control of the card"s audio levels. for instance a 1% increment software slider that also gives the % of channel volume used and the same thing with refined pan control on all channels. the level slider seems to adjust itself btw when you start a recording. thankyou very much in advance to whoever responds to this post.

This is my setting, together with this registry setting, it gives a nice audio level without clipping. I used the linein audio from my VCR to determine the 18500 level as the audio level from the blue box was way to high. Hope the jpg comes out ok.
